{"id":1921,"date":"2020-11-29T23:57:24","date_gmt":"2020-11-29T23:57:24","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/optimumsportsperformance.com\/blog\/?p=1921"},"modified":"2020-11-30T14:50:36","modified_gmt":"2020-11-30T14:50:36","slug":"tidyx-38-polar-plots-data-viz-for-information-transfer-vs-art","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/optimumsportsperformance.com\/blog\/tidyx-38-polar-plots-data-viz-for-information-transfer-vs-art\/","title":{"rendered":"TidyX 38: Polar Plots &#038; Data Viz for Information Transfer vs Art"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This week, <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ellis_hughes\">Ellis Hughes<\/a><\/span><\/strong> submitted the Washington State hiking trail data that we used in<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> <strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/optimumsportsperformance.com\/blog\/tidyx-35-visualizing-dimensions-washington-state-hikes\/\">TidyX 35<\/a><\/strong><\/span> to the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/rfordatascience\/tidytuesday\/blob\/master\/data\/2020\/2020-10-06\/readme.md\">TidyTuesday Project<\/a><\/strong><\/span>.\u00a0 We were excited to see all of the great visualizations that people shared on Twitter, making it really hard to chose whose code to discuss.<\/p>\n<p>The polar plot that <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/toeb18\/status\/1331591612405780481\">Tobias Stalder<\/a><\/span><\/strong> created was really clean looking and also seemed to be very popular, with over 200 &#8220;likes&#8221; and some good discussion about it. With that much excitement, we felt like it was the hands down favorite to discuss!
