Interviewed by Mark McLaughlin
This weekend I had the pleasure of being interviewed by my friend and colleague, Mark McLaughlin, owner of Performance Training Center in West Linn, OR.
Mark asked me about a variety of topics including:

P,
Some great points about our younger athletes. We are really starting to see some changes in Canada with our provincial and national associations, concerning the development of youth athletes. There has been a big push for physical literacy and long term athletic development, especially in Baseball Canada and many soccer associations. I think this is where many of the changes need to occur, and be implemented. It seems that many youth coaches and parents are living their life through the youth. Instead of wanting to develop a healthy well rounded athlete, who will want to continue to live a healthy lifestyle into adulthood.
Check out Baseball Canada’s LTAD model, it is getting great praise.
Hope things are well!
Iain,
Great to hear from you! Hope you and the family are well.
Canada has some great online resources for the LTAD model and age appropriate exercise. I hope some of that stuff begins to trickle down south of the border.
