Strength in Motion Seminar: Joel Jamieson, Charlie Weingroff, Patrick Ward

On Sunday, April 22, I am excited to announce that I will be speaking with Joel Jamieson and Charlie Weingroff at EndZone Athletics in Kirkland, Washington (just outside of Seattle).

Each of us will be doing two presentations with idea of offering an integrated approach to performance program design. Here are the topics we will be covering:

Charlie Weingroff

 Module One: Evaluation Principles of the Athletic System

  • Contemporary principles of Movement, Preparation, and the Sensory System
  • Overview of the premiere options to evaluate and train each of these 3 systems along with other options based on logistics and common thinking

Module Two: Motor Control Corrective Exercise

  • Defining the roles and parameters of corrective exercise
  • Illustrating best practice in corrective and most effective role in training and rehab

Patrick Ward

Module Three: Increasing the physiological buffer zone

  • Reasons for injury: poor movement, inappropriate program design, poor stress management
  • The integrated process of the human ecosystem
    Stress resistance and methods for improve it

Module Four: Program development ideas based on physiological needs

  • Differences and similarities in program design concepts of various coaches
  • Shifting the focus from what you do in your training program to what you are trying to physiologically achieve
  • Program design and management ideas

 Module Five: Developing the Performance Model

  • What is performance and how it changes depending on the sport
  • Markers that define success or failure in the game
  • Building an accurate performance profile to guide the training process
    Module Six: Monitoring the Training Process

Why monitoring is the most overlooked and misunderstood aspect of training

  • How to use the right tools depending on the job
  • Management based on monitoring and the art of coaching
